WHY IS THE BRAND CALLED ALL SHE WROTE?
Iconography literally translates to "image-writing" (eikon + graphein). So the English phrase "to write an icon" keeps that original nuance. Icons are written with great intentionality and care so that those viewing them may read them with their eyes and hearts.
The brand All She Wrote refers to the fact that I am a storyteller of these men and women, but more importantly, the name refers to what She the Church has written through the lives of her saints.
This brand is not meant to be all about me, the artist. It is all about the stories of the saints. It is about helping those who view the icons to grow closer to Christ, the saints, and the Catholic Church.
My work seeks to make the invisible realities of heaven visible - drawing from centuries of Catholic liturgical symbolism, natural materials, and quiet devotion.
ABOUT MY WORK
Icons are not simply art; they are beautiful windows into the divine. I am honored to create sacred images that serve the prayer lives of individuals, families, parishes, and communities.
WHAT’S AN ICON?
Icons aren’t just pretty religious pictures — they’re so much deeper!
Here are 5 things that make an icon an icon:
1. Only holy subjects — Icons depict Christ, the Virgin Mary, canonized saints, or scenes from the Bible.
2. Painted from dark to light — Symbolizing the soul’s journey from sin to divine light.
3. Devotional, not decorative — Icons are meant for prayer, not for mere display.
4. Created in prayer — The iconographer works in a prayerful state, seeking grace.
5. Written on wood — Icons are traditionally painted on wood panels, not canvas.
